The Micromass Q-Tof Ultima is a quadrupole, orthogonal acceleration time-of-flight tandem mass spectrometer. This instrument is coupled with nanoAcquity UPLC for exceptional high-resolution separations and is outfitted with NanoLockSpray technology enabling accurate mass measurement to <5ppm. This instrument can operate in data-dependent acquisition mode (DDA) for serial MS/MS acquisition (with MASCOT data processing), or can perform multiplexed MS/MS experiments (MSE acquisition) with Waters Identity data processing. The Q-Tof Ultima serves as our front-line instrument for identification of proteins from gel spots and bands.
