Genome Sequencing & Analysis Core Resource
ABI SOLiD 5500xlSOLiD™ 5500xl
The Duke IGSP Sequencing Core Resource acquired a Life Technologies (Applied Biosystems) SOLiD 5500xl in June 2011, and we are taking orders for runs. This instrument has two major advantages: (1) lanes on the flowship are independent, so it is not necessary to have all the lanes occupied to start a run and multiple applications can coexist in a single run; (2) this instrument has a particularly good read accuracy (99.99%) due to its two-base encoding strategy.
